iPod 60gb Video: in-line remote compatibilty

Hi, im new here!

been using rockbox on my ipod for a few years now
currently running latest build on 60gb video ipod

would like to know if in-line remotes work while in rockbox o/s?
the ones connected through the dock plug?

(i havent bought one yet) but i need to get audio out of the dock connector, as headphone jack is damaged and only gives left signal, which is frustrating to say the least!

only need the inline remote for the sake of the sound/volume control, not fussed about track-skip. as i believe only line level audio comes out of the dock?

Hi,

some hardware are supported, you can check http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodAccessories
It's not up to date though.

Your best bet is to buy the official ipod fm remote that is supported by rockbox. You'll be able to play with your volume and you'll get radio support

There isn't an official Rockbox one - by "supported by Rockbox" he means "known to work with Rockbox".

Yes, I meant: the official Apple ipod fm remote, which is this one:

Others remotes may work too, but are untested.

As AlexP said, this one is known to work wih rockbox.

it's the official one, so it's expensive...

You can try to buy a non-official remote, but I can't garantee that it'll work perfectly, since I haven't tested it myself. It should work ok though.
