I'm looking for an inexpensive SD player to run Rockbox.

Here is what I was thinking:
- Inexpensive
- Can run off USB power even if the battery is toast (plan to exclusively use plugged into car stereo, so a battery that won't hold charge is fine)
- Uses SD cards (swap out kid music vs. other music, leave player in car, just bring SD card in to update)
- No need for internal storage, just SD required.
- Ideally a standard USB connection/cable.
- Runs rockbox.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good player that would match up with this?

Maybe find an old Sansa E200 series? Although it looks like they a proprietary USB cable and micro SD instead of just SD.

saratoga:
D2 is the only player with full SD IIRC.

Though the Sandisk players are a good choice as well, microSD goes up to 16GB now.

yapper:
The e200 series use microSD and the cable is proprietary - TigerDirect are still selling refurbished e260s for $39.99

bakseetdrivr:
and they have a removable battery, and will run without a battery if its plugged in, decreasing weight too :)

not to mention over 100 different themes for it

Yeah, I used to have one, never booted rockbox on it, but they seem to work alright.
