(1/1)
randomgirl:
Hi!I'm new to rockbox and I recently have tried installing rockbox v0.3 to my ipod 5.5G.I did it manually. However, whenever I have re-tried loading rockbox on my ipod,it just says 'Can't load rockbox.ipod file not found"
So of course, being the newbie that I am,I don't know how to do anything!I will uninstall everthing related to rockbox! But in addition to that I need somebody to give me step by step instructions so dumbed down that a complete computer newbie could understand!Thnx! ;)
P.S.!I'm using a ancient computer! It was bought as a very used computer in the year 1999!This thing is so old that I can't install itunes on it!But anyway it's a windows and I have a win-pod,THNX!

There is no Rockbox 0.3, so I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to install.
Installing Rockbox consists of two different things: installing the bootloader and installing the main build. You missed doing the second step. To complete it, you need to switch the Ipod into Emegerncy Disk Mode (or boot the original firmware). Then install the main build by extracting the zip file to the player. You can do this using Rockbox Utility, which will download the correct file and extract it to the correct location. To do so just use the "Install Rockbox" button from the "Installation" tab.
If you have problems with this you need to post more details. What system is your computer running (Windows? Which version?), how are you trying to install etc. Make also sure to read the IpodFAQ and GeneralFAQ wiki pages.
