Ipod nano 5th gen
« on: January 07, 2010, 05:48:48 PM »
Hello, I have just stumbled upon rockbox today i have research it on the rockbox site and many others and i decided i really, really, really want it.  mostly for the custom eq that for some reason does not already exist in the ipod firmw.  i was getting really exited as i was downloading the installer, but when i opened it, i noticed, unfortunately, it is not available for ipod nano 5th gen.  then i registered on the forum, started a new topic and asked the question; when will this firmware that i am so exited about, going to be available for me to use?

When someone starts working on it and it got finished.

See http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodFAQ#When_will_Rockbox_be_released_fo
Porting to a new platform is lot of work; see also the NewPort wiki page. Don't hold your breath.

Bearuhcooduh,

On the Rockbox main page (http://www.rockbox.org/) there are three categories listed:

1: - Stable Ports
2: - Unstable Ports
and
3: - Unusable Ports

1: These ports are fully functional and support all the features of Rockbox.

2: These ports can be used, however they are still in development and may be missing some features and/or buggy.

3: Work has begun on porting Rockbox to these players, but there is no build available for them either supported or unsupported.

If your device is not listed in either 1, 2 or 3 then there is currently no work being done to port Rockbox to that device.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
