2nd Gen iPod froze at multimedia screen

I plugged my ipod into the computer while it was on, it then went to the multimedia screen.. i clicked on the ipod file in my computer, and then clicked on the rockbox file, for some reason itunes opened up, it froze, then i shut windows explorer and itunes down, then went to remove my ipod when i seen it was froze on the multimedia screen, i tried to reset my ipod but that didn't work.... any ideas?

How long did you hold the key combination?  Try sliding the hold switch on then back off and then holding the key combination until it resets. . . it can take much longer than 5 seconds under some circumstances.

I had tried that numerous times with no result, but i solved the problem by letting the battery drain and then recharging it, thank you anyways
