Wouldnt it be fun with rockbox achievements? And when you connect your player to your computer, there could be some kind of achivement network. Or it could just stay on the player, thatd still be epic.

DOOM - Win any level on 'hurt me plenty' - 20 Rbp(rockbox points)
Chopper - Get 1000 points - 5 Rbp
_______________
Learning - Listen to five hours of music - 20 Rbp
Rockboxer - The user uses rockbox total 50 hours - 60 Rbp

I know its alot like on the X360 but steam does it too!  ;D

Not to shoot the idea down, but what exactly does this accomplish..? The idea behind Rockbox was to provide its users with a different firmware option with more features than the original firmware and in most cases an overall better user experience. Something like this might be fun, but really adds nothing to Rockbox's usability or functionality.

this accomplishes nothing. i dont really see a point in this. rockbox is mostly for digital audo, not the games.

You're right, it does not accomplish anything. But it could make rockbox alot more fun using, even for those people who only uses rockbox for the digital audio. You don't necessarily have to play games to get them.  :)

I think this idea only serves to add elitism to Rockbox:

Rockbox User 1: W00t! I have a million RBP and am somehow better than the rest of you!
Rockbox User 2: :'(

that would just go to show you how much of a brag-happy ****s we truly are, St. and as such those kind of people are not normally welcomed to places like this just to brag off. This idea is a great one though to have a bit of competition between friends or the like. It does a great job on Steam and the XBox along with whomever else uses achievement systems. I'd be up for seeing this some time in the future.

You should, in turn, know that those two make a very good point: if you want to have a sense of achievement about Rockbox, try contributing :)

Does not matter, granted i agree they have a valid point, the author meant in no way to be it that way ;) and i do intend to be on that list eventually, kinking out the problems i have with cygwin on 'make' (could easily see my thread entitled SVN Errors Within Cygwin, if you have any suggestions sides the one post u had and i replied to.)

I think some of you got it wrong, I meant achievements like in the xbox 360 ''G''.
