ipoderer:
ok. when i installed rockbox everything worked perfectly, but i thot that to uninstall it you needed to delete rockbox off of the ipod, sooo. i went into my computer -> Drive J (which is my ipod) and deleted .rockbox NOW everytime i turn my ipod on it says
Rockbox boot loader
version 3.0
IPOD version:...
Loading rockbox...
error!
cant load rockbox.ipod
file not found

Not only will my ipod start up but it also isnt detected by usb, any more.
what do i do? is there some program i can run in the  diagnostics, or do i need to buy a new hardware chip or sumthing. please help!!

[Saint]:
uninstall the bootloader.

To get the PC to recegnize the iPod, put it in "Disk Mode":

Restart the player (menu+select) and then hold (menu+play) until it enters disk mode.

Now it should work...

PS: Why uninstall Rockbox? it's WAYYYYY better than the OFW!!!

ipoderer:
Awsome! thanks. i wanted to uninstall it because with rock box ON i couldnt sync it with itunes, and there were a ton of songs i wanted to take off. But i will DEFINANTLY put it back on

[Saint]:
Of course you can sync it with iTunes with Rockbox on....just boot it into the original firmware, plug it in and make your changes in iTunes.

Compatability with the iTunes Database is one of the AWESOME things about Rockbox.

No need to uninstall Rockbox.

To use the Dual Boot function, boot the iPod with the Hold Switch ON and it will boot into the OFW
