Use demos as screensavers?
« on: December 31, 2009, 05:36:24 PM »
I got a iriver h10 5gb yesterday for 20 dollars and I love it, and I love it even more now that I got rockbox on it, but there is one single thing that annoys me.

I was wondering if there is a way to use the demos as a screensaver that would activate after a set amount of time, like on a PC.

Or would that be a future feature?

I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me :x

that would do nothing but drain the batteries...

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

it would still be fun.

and it could also be used while the mp3 player is charging, too.

And it could also help prevent screen burn-in.

LCDs don't really suffer burn-in. What they do suffer is from leaving the backlight on too long and wearing it out.

As well, on most players the screen is cleared when the backlight is off, which would prevent burn-in much better.

I used to think I wanted this as a feature, until I actually *thought* about it...

It would be annoying if the screensaver cut in too quickly, and it would be of very little use if it came in within a reasonable period of time as chances are, you won't be looking at the player anymore.

I only have my backlight set to like 3 seconds for the same reason, by the time it shuts off, it's already in my pocket.

Plus, it'd *eat* the batteries.

Couldn't you just make a shortcut to Demos? I know it's not quite the same thing but, yeah...

Well that would work too.
