Have reloaded the bootloader
« on: December 28, 2009, 08:27:21 PM »
And now nothing
OK so here is what I wanted to do - Reinstall the bootloader and then install a new version of Rockbox.
Anyway I reinstalled the bootloader turned off and on. When I turn the Gigabeat x on(not plugged into PC) it comes up with
=====
bootloader version 3
loading firmware
file not found
=====
and shuts off. If I plug in to the USB nothing with the gigabeat or the PC (does not find drive)

If I have it plugged into the PC (Windows 7) from the when I turn the Gigabeat on it goes straight to Bootloader USB mode on the gigabeat but not drive appears on windows. I have swapped USB ports and cables. So what next what can I do

Gigabeat X hard reset, boot loader recovery.

Turn off the battery power.

Press and hold "A", "+ Volume", "Power" keys at the same time, and then insert AC power lead, turn on power.

It will now behave as a usb device.

Restore/reinstall your files etc.

PS Make sure to press the keys properly!
PPS I hate bricks!
