Adding features
« on: December 26, 2009, 12:16:18 PM »
I'm pretty new here. I wanted to look into developing for RockBox, but I can't seem to find anything on the main site that points to the source code or suggests a development environment. I'm on Ubuntu 9.10.

Basically what I want to do is port SBaGen to RockBox. It doesn't seem like it should be too difficult, but I would need some instruction on how development is done. For example, would this be developed as a plugin? A program? I'm not at all sure what RockBox's coding paradigm is. Is it one piece of monolithic code that contains libraries to handle different file types, or does it run applications?

In other words, how would you go about developing something like this, and what information would I need?

Thanks, that's very useful. I couldn't find that before.

Aren't sbagen files single audio files? I think this might make more sense as a codec.
