how do I set default font
« on: December 25, 2009, 07:42:40 PM »
My eysight is poor. I can't see less than 18 font with glasses. How do I make any theme only use minimum say 18font. I try delete all less than 18 in fonts directory, when I load cabbie plus, it is tiny. even my cat says it is very small, can I have some fish please now.

You need to only select themes that use larger fonts.

Most themes won't work with fonts that are the wrong size, or won't work well. Just pick themes that use a larger font, or change the font after loading the theme.

Deleting all fonts that are smaller won't help -- if a font is not found then sysfont is used, which (intentionally) is pretty small. Just use a theme that uses a large font, or select the font after choosing the theme manually.

It would help to know what type of DAP (mp3/audio player etc.) you have, and what theme it is you wish to use (cabbie plus?), and the font you intend to use as well...

Without editing the code of the theme slightly, it may not be possible.

I have poor eyesight myself, and in my experience most themes look odd or will display incorrectly at <14pt font unless (and sometimes even if) you have a DAP with a particularly large screen.

So:
What player?
What theme?
What font?

Also, what version of Rockbox are you using?

I have enough free time to be able to stick something together to suit your needs (if need be) but I'd require at least that information and some basic input from you about the requirements the theme would need to meet to benefit you.

Sincerely,
[St.]

PS: Do you use any of the voice functions Rockbox offers currently?

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
