Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility
Problems Installing to 30GB, iPod Video
(1/1)
jbritton:
(On Ubuntu 9.10)
So I was able to download the Rockbox Utility, ran the program with gksu to get root privileges, installed rockbox and bootloader (tried the complete install and installing each part individually, same result both ways).
Then when I start the iPod after Safely Removing, I get an error
"Can't load rockbox.ipod File not found"
I opened the iPod directory and found the .rockbox folder, and .rockbox.ipod is in the folder. To make things stranger, I installed Loader2 from ipodlinux and it was able to boot Rockbox, although it was very slow and not fully functional (couldn't change themes, fonts, or open files).
It seems to me that the issue is in the bootloader but I can't identify where, I even tried running it as an install through terminal.
Any suggestions? I would love to get this working properly

Yes it does... And my iPod is a 5.5G. Perhaps I'll try resenting it in Windows.... Now i just have to find a Windows box that works properly... :)
