SanDisk Sansa Clip V1/V2 [ERROR]

(1/1)

treqq:
Hi,
there are some problems with the sandisk Sansa clip. Sansa Clip has two firmware version 02.01.32 and 01.01.32. If you have bought your sansa clip in the first days you have the firmware 1.x.x.x.

I have the 2.x.x.x version of the firmware. So if i download the OF i have the file "m30pa" (2.x.x.x) and not the file name "m300a" (1.x.x.x).

Your installation only works with the m300a (1.x.x.x) version. If i want to try it with the "m30pa" (2.x.x.x) version i get the follow error:

[ERR] Modelname"clv2" not found in bootloader-clip.sansa
[ERR] Could not load bootloader-clip.sansa

So can you uptade your bootloader-clip.sansa file ? or
Do you have a manual to remove the 2.x.x.x of a sansa clip. So i can try to install the "older" version 1.x.x.x.

Thanks

Best Regards,
Treqqq

The different firmware versions on the Clip are *different actual hardware*: rockbox works on the Clip v1 hardware, which has firmware version 1.x, but it does not yet work on the Clip v2 hardware, which has firmware version 2.x. A separate Rockbox port is needed for the clipv2, which is still in very early stages and is not usable.

You cannot "downgrade" as the v1 and v2 Clip are different players; they can't run each others' firmware.
