Hey there,

I searched and searched but I was unable to find an answer anywhere. What firmware version is recommended for the use of Rockbox 3.4 on an iRiver H320?

I assume you are asking which original firmware version to use.  It doesn't really matter except that you can't use the US version because it can't be patched with the bootloader.  I used 1.29EU.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer but I'd really like to know which version is the best (does 1.31K work now?) or if there are any drawbacks depending on which firmware version you use.

I'm not clear on what you want to do.  But if your intent is to install Rockbox, then the version of the original iriver firmware doesn't really matter (as long as it is not the US version) since you are replacing it with Rockbox.  If your intent is to use the original firmware and want to know which version is best I can't help you.  You can always load the version you want and try it out.  Just make sure you can get a copy of the version you are currently running in case you want to revert back.  Hope this helps.

I want to run Rockbox on my iRiver H320. When I want to install Rockbox it asks for an original firmware which I have to download first. So my guess is that the original firmware does matter somehow.

The problem is, I don't know which firmware version is best for Rockbox. I searched all the pages here but the only info I found is that 1.31K doesn't work with Rockbox. But event that info seems to be months old. So the info I'm looking for is, does it matter which firmware version I use? Are there any features that work or don't work based on the firmware version I use? And does 1.31K work now?
