Ipod nano 1generation not starting!

My ipod nano 1 generation is not starting. I've even connected it to the power. but still it's not starting! PLEASE HELP

The stock answer is that you need to leave it plugged into a known-good power source for a few hours, untouched, and if it doesn't self-power on then try toggling the hold switch from on (red) to off (white) then Menu+Select held for up to thirty seconds w/o moving your fingers (a hard thing to do sometimes on your tiny Nano).

Hopefully by the time you have read this it has resolved itself...
