Ipod nano 2g not recognized?
« on: November 28, 2009, 04:18:53 PM »
Hi, last night I got rockbox onto my ipod nano 2g and it works great, but when I plug it into my pc it isn't recognized at all. My nano will only show up if I boot it into OFW. Any help?

Rockbox doesn't have a USB mode on the nano 2G yet, so you need to use the OF for file transfers.  I thought it should reboot to the OF when you plug in USB under Rockbox, but as this target is currently under heavy development this may not have been implemented/may be currently not working.

Rockbox is a spare time volunteer project.  There are no ETAs, ever.  People are generally working without data sheets and by reverse engineering, so it could be tomorrow, it could be never.

Edit:  It has just been pointed out to me on IRC that the nano 2G does have USB, it just doesn't work properly for everyone yet.  How quickly this is fixed depends on how elusive the bug is :)
