rockbox wont detect my sansa??? e250R post UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i got up to #5 part 2 where it says:"Under Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click USB Mass Storage Device (or something similar) and select Update Driver." i got to do that but it said that the wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currenty have installed.i clicked finish anyway but then when i went to the e200r patcher
i got
[ERR] Error writing data length
[ERR] Bulk write error (-116, Unknown error)
[ERR] Upload of application failed.
[INFO] Press ENTER to exit.
maybe its already been posted just im really tired (im so sorry =[) and ill really appreciate your help.. :-[

When the Update Driver Wizard starts, do not choose the option to "Search automatically".  Instead, choose the option to "Browse my computer" (or similar).  You will then be able to browse to the e200-manufac-driver you downloaded.

i know! thats what i did, i click where it says install from a list or specific location> then search for the best drivers in these locations> i clicked browse then i directed it to the e200-manufac-driver then it says please wait while the wizard searches (btw my sansa e250R comes out as usb mass storage device) then i get cannot continue the hardware wizard cause the wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currenty have installed...... :-\ what am i doing wrong?

Again, do not let the wizard "search".  Windows thinks that it already has a better driver, so it will not use the driver you selected.

These steps are from Windows 7 and may not be exactly what you see, but should be close if you have Vista:

1. Update Driver Software...
2. Browse my computer for driver software
3. Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
4. Click the "Have Disk..." button
5. Browse to the location of the downloaded driver

ohh i got windows xp  :-\ so i cant continue now?




EDIT:oh im sorry ok i followed the instructions very carefully and i ran the e200rpatcher.exe file and followed the prompts. then my Sansa had some text on the screen saying that everything was succesful. i downloaded rockbox but..now it wont detect my sansa  :'( and ive gone this far so im not gonna back down..

i went to quick start then "change" then sansa e200v1 (i have an e250R) i set the directory to E:\ (which was where it was) i clicked complete installation then i clicked OK but i got searching for sansa, sansa not detected sigh..plz help  :-\


ps i tried to reply instead of modify on this post but it sais i couldnt double post?
