Replacing the Motherboard on a Rockboxed 5.5gen 80GB iPod

(1/1)

thegreenduck:
While installing a new battery on my 5.5 gen 80GB Rockboxed iPod, I broke the battery connector on the motherboard.  After kicking myself for such a stupid mistake, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new motherboard.  After I install this new mobo, what will I have to do to get rockbox running again?  Will a full install take care of it?  My harddrive already has the rockbox files, but I'm guessing something on the new mobo needs to be flashed.

Sorry if this should have gone into the Installation forum.

Thanks!

On ipods, nothing is flashed for rockbox, everything is on the hard disk. The only thing that you might have to do is install a 32mb build instead of a 64mb one (although there's a good chance you're already running a 32mb build anyway)

Okay, thanks for the quick reply!  I'll let you know how it goes post-op.
