Which version is best for Ipod mini G2 ??

I heard that if you replace the Mini's microdrive for a CF card you also need to fill the gap that's there because the card is thinner with a bit of cardboard or something like that. The microdrive holds the scrollwheel in place and is also needed to take the pressure of pressing the buttons. I could imagine that you'll experience button problems if you didn't do that or the cardboard isn't thick enough and maybe the small moves when connecting the cable for an update make it worse.

Just an idea but maybe that is what's happening here?

The scrollwheel is fixed at the casing and not hold (though maybe its position is supported by) the microdrive. In my case, I fixed the CF card with tape because it's thinner but that's it. So at least in my case the gap between scrollwheel and card is not a problem -- I've got this setup working since ˜1 1/2 years now. Doesn't mean that this could be a possible issue, though ...

Hi
Got no problems with the scrollwheel every thing works fine except when I play files from a libery with meny files and press next or previous it get stuck or is veeeery slow in changing to the new file and if I want to hear a file 10 files later it gets impossible especially in the car it get dangerous because it gets me taking the eyes from the road.

Chronon:
I was going to mention Directory Cache, but on second reading your problem appears to be related to audio buffering, not using the file browser.
