SSD Questions

RBrown_123:
Hello,

I have a H320 that had a 32gb flash card working perfectly till it died. I bought this SSD to replace it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/KingSpec-1-8-50pin-IDE-64GB-SSD-50-pin-P7230-TX16_W0QQitemZ280421870425QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414a722b59

Unfortunately however it does not boot in either rockbox or the original firmware. It is formatted as 512b allocation unit size, and NTFS file system.

Any ideas of how I may get this to work or will I need to buy a different drive, and if that's the case are there are known to work?

Thanks

AlexP:
It needs to be FAT32 at the least.

Thanks for that AlexP well on the right track now. I am still having a problem after formatting to FAT32 however when I try and boot it - it has only worked once out of several attempts just turning it on like normal, and on other occasions I would turn it on with the USB plugged in and then when I removed it it would boot ok, however now when I try either way it just comes up saying:

ATA error:   -11
Insert USB cable and press a button.

Then after a few moments:

No partition found.

On the few times it did boot it worked perfectly without any problems so I'm guessing the particular hard drive will work with rockbox, however it just needs to boot.

Have you seen anything like this before with the ATA error -11 or know what may be causing the problem?

Thanks again
