That sounds quite a bit more complex than necessary. This shouldn't be a full on replacement of the manual, just something that can guide people through/to the most essential settings - the ones that may roadblock their ability to use the player.

froggyman:
I guess that it makes more sense to start with a simpler guide through for the first start plugin, otherwise it would defeat the purpose of the manual.

Llorean:
Not so much "a simple guide through" as "force them to manually select the values for a few settings."
