ogg playback fails on Cowon/IAUDIO X5

(1/1)

usernamenumber:
Hello,

I'm running Rockbox 3.4 on my X5, but it seems to not play any of my ogg-vorbis files (had the same problem under previous versions). I can, however, play these files on my laptop, and they played fine on the old Cowon firmware. Here is the output of the Linux "file" command on one such file:

Audio file with ID3 version 2.3.0, contains: Ogg data, Vorbis audio, stereo, 44100 Hz, ~128000 bps, created by: Xiph.Org libVorbis I

I saw someone else mention that there could be problems with ogg files that have ID3 tags, is that the problem? If so, does anyone know of a Linux tool that can automatically port ID3 to whatever format should be being used?

Thanks!

AlexP:
They should use vorbis comments and not ID3 tags.  Vorbis comments are the native tagging format for ogg files.

I don't know of anything off hand to convert them, but am sure it exists :)
