crossfade skipping
« on: November 06, 2009, 03:54:24 PM »
Hey rockboxers,

I had an idea that may be beneficial, but then again it might just be me that in encounters this issue. When skipping multiple tracks, and i have cross-fade on, it takes a while to fade one track out, then the next in and so on. What i propose is that (if its possible) if crossfade is enabled, and after something like 3 next track button presses within 10 seconds or something, it just goes right to the next song instead of fading in and out.

Thanks,
-Tom

I doubt the 'problem' is with fading in and out. Multiple track skips means you most probably get further than what's been pre-buffered and you must wait for the player to read the files (and spin the disc if not flash-based).  --  Of course, the fading-in kind of adds its bit to the slowness, but it's most probably small.

Have you experienced considerably better responsiveness with multiple track skips when not using fading on skips?
