iRiver H120 problem
« on: November 05, 2009, 01:14:31 PM »
Hi, II've got a problem with my Iriver H120, which may or not be related to Rockbox.  I've just installed Rockbox on my player.  I then wanted to edit my files on the drive, and deleted all my music  - about 18GB via explorer.  However, now the player is showing as having 1.82 GB as used space, with 16.7GB free.  However there is no music on the player so don't know there isn't more used space.

I've just uninstalled Rockbox but still the same problem.

Is there a problem with the hard drive?  Do I need to format it or something?

Cheers.

When you say that "the player is showing 1.82GB used space" I assume that you're talking about what your OS reports when the player is mounted?

It could well be the Recycle Bin (or Mac/Linux equivalent) in which case you could run the Disktidy plugin to free up that space.

Or if I've misinterpreted what you said, and it's Rockbox itself telling you that there's 1.82GB used, then you can press Select (i.e. push in the joystick) when in the System menu: http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-h100/rockbox-buildch5.html#x8-980005.12

Yes, this is what the OS reports when the player is connected.

Will look into using the Disktidy plugin.

Thanks.
