Do you think that an SBS for cabbiev2 needs to include information like recording bitrate and format, or should it be kept simple.

alright well this was what i was working on for the video

i like to know what song is playing/next as well as the volume/battery so since the video has wasted space on the right side, i put the icons there and some other stuff underneath it

let me know what you think, also id appreciate some sort of credit if you incorporate my ideas but otherwise feel free to incorporate concepts from mine

p.s. it is not commented well including giving credit where its due for graphics but i took them directly from cabbie v3

OK, this is what I hope will be the final version (for the Sansa anyways).

The disk usage animation blends nicely with the rest, and I put the Rockbox logo back.
What do you think?

A ZIP with the SBS and images can be downloaded here:

And bakseetdrivr, I am looking at yours now.

Porting has started for the other players, hope to have two more released this week.

that looks really good man, i like the hard drive activity icon, does it do an animation? or do all the little circle just fill up? also not sure if you did, but having the time switch with the sleep time would be helpful

looking forward to your opinion on my version of it :)

all in all looking very good

what a bad idea, really. you'd have to cut them out to put them on a gradient background

I think it would look better without the Rockbox logo.

actually they are cut, i just trimmed the pictures so it was only the top half, so there isn't a fading reflection, therefore no need for a gradient. I might have misunderstood your comment but it would help if you were a little more clear. Also instead of just bashing, you could provide insight as to what would be better.

and for what its worth moonscapex, i think leaving the rockbox in there looks good  :)

cabbie 2.0 uses a gradient for a background, so only the very bottom of the screen is perfectly black. if you use the graphics from cabbie 3 there will always be a slight mismatch between the black background that the icons use and the dark part of the gradient.
You shouldn't use cabbie 3 as a starting point anyway. It's missing some new icons. Just get the original graphics.

ZincAlloy...should we start another wiki page to have a defalt sbs? haha. i do think that turned out very VERY well for the default WPS though.

I can't please everyone with one theme.  The disk usage animation is animated but if Sansa owners could do some additional testeing that would be great.

It appears that we want a default sbs, but some people objected that it has to show all information the current classic statusbar shows, especially in the recording screen where the classic one shows a lot of extra information.

It's going to be hard to display all of that.  Is it really necessary?  I'll add a poll and see if it is needed.
And since I have lots of school work to do at this time of year I don't have as much time for porting the SBS  :-\.  If I could get some help that would be great.
