Poll

Do you think that an SBS for cabbiev2 needs to include information like recording bitrate and format, or should it be kept simple.

OK, here it is  ;D.  So far I have almost completed the Sansa version.  Some things you should know:

  • The cabbiev2 WPS needs to be modified, because another icon has been added to the playmode.bmp (a recording icon).
  • The Rockbox logo has been removed from the backdrop, it just doesn't fit or look good with the statusbar.
  • I still have to make a disk activity animation, but it will be coming soon.

Some questions:
Should the AM/PM text be upper or lower case?  Should I try and add the Rockbox logo?  Where should the activity icon be placed and what should it look like?

I will start porting after I get some feedback.  Heres a download link with a ZIP containing the SBS, WPS, images, backdrops, and a full size record icon in XCF (GIMP) format.  Enjoy  ;)

Download: http://rbsansa.webs.com/Cabbiev2SBS.zip

Screendumps:

The main menu.

New recording icon.

Sorry for the low quality of the screendumps, my image hosting service compresses them.

The WPS never shows the recording screen, I don't think it needs to be modified.

Are you sure the rockbox writing cannot be placed a little more upwards? Otherwise it looks nice!

Maybe I could make the logo a little smaller and then use it.  As for the WPS mods, i'll put the recording icon in a seperate file, so we won't need to change the WPS.

The am/pm indicator is not really necessary as far as I am concerned.  I don't need to check my dap to know if it is day or night.

Yes, I didnt think of that.  If I remove it, there will be room for a disk activity icon.

It is also not needed if you use the 24 hour clock - I assume without checking that the WPS automatically switches depending on the user setting (cabbie v2 should do)?

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

OK, almost done.  Any ideas for the disk usage indicator?  I would like it to blink or fade in and out, but I don't know what it should look like.

so your not making it the way it looks on the default wps? just asking because you are talking about a disk usage indicator.
