Do you think that an SBS for cabbiev2 needs to include information like recording bitrate and format, or should it be kept simple.

Cabbie v2 SBS
« on: October 30, 2009, 03:56:15 PM »
Hi everyone!

I'm working on an SBS file for Cabbie v2 and I need some feedback.
I attatched the screendump.

Tell me what you think, and what I should add.

I'll be working on making the icons look better, and making it for different players.

Thanks  ;D

It looks all right, but it seems to pop out too much. Try to see if you can get it to blend seamlessly with the menu.

So get rid of the gradient on the top, and just add the icons to the normal backdrop?

I kind of want it to look like the classic statusbar.

i actually really like it. well i would have to test it first, but this is what i was thinking of when i heard of the custom status bar. if you are that good you might want to make 2 of them. one like the classic status bar and then one more modern like the theme CSB. that has the same icons just like cabbieV2. just a suggestion. i didnt mind the custom status bar on CSB. it was nice when going in a  menu and those icons DIDNT disappear. keep up the good work and make sure you keep us posted.

edit: what player was this originall for? you say your making this for all players, or going to try to, but what player did you orignally start with?

Quite a hack job. The icons look really messed up. You should place the original icons from the graphics package (http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/pub/Main/DefaultWPS/cabbie2graphics.zip) on your gradient.

im currently working on one for the 5th gen ipod

since it has such a long screen that goes unused in most menus, i put the graphics on the right side of the screen while browsing or switching settings. I also put next track/current track info at the bottom. Once i get it finished i can post the code/screenshots

I agree with having the icons in the same position they are in the WPS.... trying to recreate the classic bar is a bit of a waste... :)
