hi everyone!
yesterday i installed rockbox on my sandisk sansa e280v2 (manually, since rockboxutility didn't work). at first everything seemed to be ok, but after i deleted all the mp3 files in the directory named "MUSIC" trouble started. i copied over my music as ogg files to have a nice directory structure because the original firmware does not support subdirectories in "MUSIC", so everything was a complete mess in that directory until yesterday. after filling the device with directories and subdirectories full of music (most of them ogg, the rest mp3), i booted rockbox and told it to update the database. it took forever so i took a look on the db info and saw that progress was at -1 % but the db already had about 450k entries. on the pc (kubuntu 9.10 64bit) only between 1400 an 1500 files were to be seen. "curfile" pointed to /##PORT#/01000100_stor. later on i noticed 2 directories not shown when mounted on pc named "##MUSIC#" and "##PORT#". inside the latter is a subdirectory "01000100_storage". all files and subdirectories inside "01000100_storage" had unreadible names because of lots of unprintable characters.
when shut the device down and reboot rockbox the db files get created and i can access most parts of my music collection. some albums are missing. they can't be found anywhere in the db. on my pc amarok does not have any problems reading those files/tags.
the 2 mysterious directories can't be seen on the pc, only from inside rockbox. i tried to copy a database.ignore file into /##PORT#/01000100_storage and got a painc iirc. when i try this with the new build, i get the message "Data abort at 300507a4" and rockbox reboots after pressing a key. placing a file inside ##MUSIC# or a subdirectory thereof works like a charm.
btw: i tried the builds from yesterday and today.
what's going on on my sansa? can anyone help me, please?
