Sort <All> Songs by Artist, Album
(1/1)
Glaucous:
Hello.
I like RockBox, I like the features and the freedom. :)
However, there is one quite important thing missing.
When you browse the database, and choose an Artist, then you can either choose an album, or <All> songs. The thing is that when you view all songs, they're listed/sorted alphabetically, this sucks.
If you've ever used Winamp, iTunes, foobar2000 or any other music manager, it's almost always default sorted by Artist, then Album and then the song (often by #Track).
Is it possible to do this with a script, or something?
MHael:
I've never played around with it, but surely this is possible using tagnavi.config?

Glaucous:
You think? Well hopefully it works. Last time I tried I failed pretty hard. But I guess I just have to read through it better this time.
Edit: Well I'm reading through the tagnavi. But I can't find anything about how to change the way <All> sorts. Any help?
Edit2: I settled with creating a new menu, which only displays Artist -> Tracks. The problem here is that now I have multiple songs with the same track number.
01. blabla
01. blablo
02. blalaui
02. blaiasd
So, I have to sort them by Album name, in some way?
Glaucous:
I found this old thread while searching around. So I'll take a shot, any luck regarding this? Is there a way to do it, still the same issue.
AlexP:
I don't think so, no. Problem here is that almost no devs at all use the database, so nobody spends any time on it. It needs someone who both uses it and has the requisite skills to apply a little love.
