Testing SVN H1x0 bootloader for v7 release. (CFModders in particular)
« on: October 25, 2009, 02:25:59 PM »
I just managed to flash my H1x0+CFMod+RTC target with the bootloader in SVN.
It seems that this bug has been resolved for the CF cards available to me.
As far as I know this was the last blocker bug for a new bootloader (v7) release. (am I wrong about this?)

Could the devs please take a look at the BL code and could some brave users test the bootloader currently in SVN to see if it works.
Once that's done I would suspect it would be the very last bootloader for the H1x0 targets released. (putting it to rest)

CAUTION: Please make sure you know what the hell you are doing as this sort of thing can BRICK your player. Seriously.

It works (so far) for me but I had a spare unit and was willing to take the risk.

I just want to add to the warning:

BE VERY CAREFUL

Flashing a bad bootloader can permanently brick your player and make it unrecoverable without specialist equipment.

So, anyone else willing to take the risk? I've been using my target (lightly) for several days with no problems whatsoever.

maybe offtopic but are there serious issues with the h300 bootloader?
can I build one from SVN and take the risk?

The H300 has the same potential bricking issues as the H100.  I have no idea of the status of the SVN H300 bootloader.  It is probably OK, but if it were me I wouldn't be taking the risk.

I'll be one of the brave souls and try out the SVN H300 bootloader. I have an H320 that needs a little fixing up that can be a good guinea pig.
