H320 battery discharged while on USB, player no longer responds
« on: October 24, 2009, 03:48:50 PM »
I've had an H320 for a few years now, and I'm pretty sure that at least the battery is dead, if not other things. Battery life was down to at most 30 minutes, or as low as 5 minutes if I decided to skip tracks or enter the menu. Pressing down around the play/stop buttons with slightly more force than necessary shut off the player instantly. I've been running the player off of charger power for god knows how long.

My current issue is that I forgot to plug the charger in a few days ago. When I subsequently tried to start the player or plug in the charger, I got absolutely no response. Is the player bricked or is it possible to revive it?

When I ignore my H340 for months, the battery runs completely down (not good for the lithium batteries) and the machine is completely unresponsive.  When I plug in the AC adapter, I have to let it charge for a good hour before it feels like waking up (if it could drink coffee, I'd try that, but it can't).

If your battery has been dying for a while, you may want to leave it plugged in overnight, then try powering on.  Batteries are relatively cheap on eBay, and even though it's a pain, replacing them isn't a horrible experience.

I think there's even a guy selling parts--you could get a new set of buttons & a contact board.  The H320 is definitely worth keeping around.

It's been connected for a few days now. The only change is that it kinda sounds like the drive is spinning up when I press the on button, but nothing happens afterward. I'm actually already preemptively bidding on an H340, but I'd still like to get my 320 fixed if possible.

Try the reset button too  ::)
If no response buy a new battery  ;)
I'm shure it will fix the problem.
Good luck
