Installation ipod nano 2G on linux(Debian squeeze)

(1/1)

T_I:
Hi,

I was very pleased to find the 2g nano is, kind-of, supported (here), but the latest ipodpatcher (of 13-10-2009), which is noted to support the 2g nano, begs to differ.

./ipodpatcher /dev/sdb --add-bootloader bootloader-ipodnano2g.ipodx
ipodpatcher 4.0 with v3.0 bootloaders (v1.0 for 2nd Gen Nano)

Am I missing something?

(All support questions of the 2G nano I could find predate the announcement)

Greetings,

What happens when you just run ipodpatcher without any parameters?

Also, run it with sudo, or as root. ipodpatcher needs raw disk access in order to install the bootloader.

This was discussed today in the #rockbox irc channel.  It appears that there is a bug in ipodpatcher.  Linuxstb knows about the problem, and a fix has been tested.  A new release for the ipodpatcher utility should be available soon.

Thanks, I guess I won't be the only one happy with the patch.
