Absence of Charging Screen After Installing Vrs 3.4
Spacedog2k5:
Okay, not sure if this is something anyone else has experienced as yet, but.. after installing the current release - Version 3.4 - I lost my "Charging" screen when I plug it into charge, either via USB into my laptop or using the AC/DC charger. Everything else about the new verson is stellar (it even fixed the problem of some songs that would sometimes crash the player with older versions I was using), just I know can't get tell if it's charging and when it's done. Is there any help for this? ???

I don't think Rockbox has a charging screen. If you're charging in Rockbox you should just see the normal screen with a charging icon in the status bar (or a USB screen if you're in USB disk mode). Whatever you were seeing was probably part of the original firmware not rockbox.

My apologies, I prob. didn't present that well..
What I meant was previously, when I connected my Sansa, either via USB or AC adapter, it would show me the screen with the message "Database Refresh". Once the "Refresh" was done, it would go return to the original Sansa firmware screen. After holding down the Power button for a few seconds, it would go into the "Charge" mode with a little screen shot of a battery flashing yellow with the message "Charging" above it. Now, as I said, all of that is gone.

That is the original firmware. If you're asking how to reboot into it, see the manual.

I wasn't asking how to reboot the firmware. As I said, that no option (it was achieved by holding down the Power button for a few seconds) no longer works.. All I get now, either via USB or AC adapter, is a black showing a USB cable cable graphic representation.
