I have 13 mp3s all ripped from the same source and when i go into view them in the database to play them they list like this
10.Filename EP10
11.Filename EP11
12.Filename EP12
13.Filename EP13
Filename EP1
Filename EP2
Filename EP3
Filename EP4
Filename EP5
Filename EP6
Filename EP7
Filename EP8
Filename EP9
I've removed the ID3v1 tags and ensured that the ID3v2 tags do not reference a track number as well as going through window's summery properties of each file to also remove any entries.
Any ideas why I'd get the prefixed numbers on some and not others?
thx

Did you update the database after removing the tags? If not, then it would display the old information.

If the tag contains no track number, but the file name contains two consecutive digits, they are interpreted as a track number. Some argue that this behavior should be removed, but it hasn't been removed yet...

It seems to be strange behaviour to me. If you want to use the database, then tag your files properly.

I'm pretty sure the main reason this hasn't been removed is simply that nobody has done the work to remove it. I don't really remember anyone being strongly in favor of keeping it.
