USB leads to Rockbox<->OF cycle (was: Installation onto C250 works, but ...)

Hi - I managed to install Rockbox (latest version?) onto a Sansa C250 but and cannot get Rockbox to work properly.


The installation went well and the Sansa C250 loads Rockbox fine, it even sees the 8GB microSD card. But I cannot connect to the computer - when I try the player screen cycles between rockbox and sansa...around and around...and Windows XP file explorer keeps cycling between seeing the Sansa drive and the Rockbox drive on E:

 

Any help with this would be fantastic!

Might it be a connectivity issue?  Are you able to connect properly if you manually boot into the SanDisk firmware before plugging in the USB cable?

I tried your suggetion and it connects fine when in boots up with the Sansa system, but still no luck with rockbox...

There is a known bug that with some start screen options the c200 will not successfully connect from off. you can prove this by changing the start screen option some work some don't.
For those that don't,if you wish to use one, you can start the c200 first and then connect.

Thank you for the advice. With the start screen set to database it will connect successfully. However, windows see 2 removable drives but cannot access either of them. Is that related to this issue perhaps?

What does windows say when you try to access the two drives (which are the main storage of the sansa, and the SD card)?

Windows asks "please insert a disk into drive" for both drives...
