Rockbox utility ini file SOLVED
« on: September 30, 2009, 04:17:26 PM »
Using Rockbox Utility on Onda VX747  ??? ???
On the port page you state it will work if we mod the rbutil.ini
I downloaded the ini file you altered but cannot get it to recognize the player.
I put the ini file in the same directory as the utility.Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Rockbox Utility does not search for the file rbutil.ini. That file is compiled into the binary. Simply putting a modified file somewhere doesn't make it work -- you need to build Rockbox Utility yourself.

And why do you need mcuelenaere for your question? There are others with knowledge, and there are others working on Rockbox Utility as well :o Besides, the thread topic is rather undescriptive. Nothing that's good if you actually want help ...

I thought he was best suited to answer the question.
Next time I'll use a more descriptive topic.

It didn't cause me pain or suffering, but this was one of those posts I really consider not answering even if I exactly know the answer. Which, from your point of view, shouldn't be a good thing.

(BTW: I'm working on Rockbox Utility since 2 years or so. In fact, early versions did check for an external rbutil.ini, but that functionality was removed at some point.)

I'm glad you answered my question. Thankyou

BTW.
I appreciate all the work you have put into Rockbox.  ;)
