Letter Recognition Problem - yeah super corny that's what u think
« on: September 30, 2009, 03:46:04 PM »
*Excuse me if this is not the proper place to post this issue ... i think this forum is the most suitable for my problem =\*

First of all Hi i'm new here :)
i'd like to say that im totally in love with my crappy 2gig sansa E250 now that it got rockbox installed on it ... this program is divine - thank you guys so much for developing it .

Well lets cut to the point shall we ... for some weird reason i can't view hebrew letters properly when im browsing through the database and viewing the music player itself at action .. they show up as gibberish/weird letters .
i'm using version 3.4, and i have the font pack ... im using the 16-GNU-Unifont and they're still look the same .

Now here is the weird part ..
when im viewing the actual music files (through Files > MUSIC directory) they show up just fine in proper hebrew .. it looks like the problem only exist at the database browsing and at the Now Playing Screen .
even when i'm changing the general language of the player to hebrew it stays the same ... everything shows up in proper hebrew (all the menu and stuff) except the file names at the database and in the Now Playing Screen ...
When i'm choosing to play a file in hebrew i can see him displaying properly in the Now Playing Screen for a split second before it stars, and then he immediately turns into gibberish/weird letters when its actually plays =\

I usually try to solve problems on my own, but my head burst in flames on this one  ???
Any kind of help would be appreciated - THANKS IN ADVANCE ! ~

*I just like to say i had hebrew running with no problem on this player back when i used rockbox version 3 or 3.1 i can't exactly remember*

We get these codepage problems quite often. I just put together the 3 most common ones and how to solve them:

Hopefully you can fix your problem. Suggestions on how to improve the page are welcome.

Now i can really enjoy this device ... its like a 1976 Camaro would turn into a 5th Generation Camaro  ;)
