Sansa Fuze: How to distinguish the HW version based on the model number?

I am considering buying a Fuze and I am looking specifically for v1 (the only one that is usable under Rockbox).

The only model easily available in my region is SDMX14R-008GK-E57 (I am looking to buy the 8GB one). Does anyone know what version this model number is? The player is available only for online purchase, so I cannot check the menu for the version before I buy it. Google was also not useful in this respect.

I don't think its possible to tell from the model number.  You need to check the firmware version.
