v6.0 patcher not updating e260R from 5.0 to 6.0 (fixed)
(1/1)
mgpaulus:
Hi all,
I downloaded http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/6.0/6.0/e200r-patcher/linux64amd64/e200rpatcher to my debian amd64 system
Linux none.of.your.bus 2.6.30-bpo.1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Aug 17 08:42:50 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
followed the instructions on the screen
$ sudo ./e200rpatcher
e200rpatcher v0.3 - (C) 2007 Jonathan Gordon & Dave Chapman

Attach your E200R in "manufacturing mode" as follows:
1) Power-off your E200R
2) Turn ON the lock/hold switch
3) Press and hold the SELECT button and whilst it is held down,
attach your E200R to your computer via USB
4) After attaching to USB, keep the SELECT button held for 10 seconds.
NOTE: If your E200R starts in the normal Sansa firmware, you have
failed to enter manufacturing mode and should try again at step 1).

Then I power off and power on my e260R, but the boot screen still shows
Boot Ver 5.0
Ver 3.4
Am I missing some vital step to get the 6.0 bootloader installed?
Thanks.
mgpaulus:
Well, got it figured out..... Probably the long way around, but here's what I did.
Went out to the download site, and downloaded the latest pp5022.mi4 file from
http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/6.0/e200R/
installed pp5022.mi4 into the e260R root drive.
booted into sandisk mode (start up and press |<< )
The above caused the bootloader to be refreshed. Rebooted again, and now the bootloader version shows as Ver 6.0.
