5G ipod Equaliser for line-out?

The line out on the Ipod is exactly the same as the headphone out with 2 exceptions:
1) Volume control is disabled
2) The output impedance is higher

Is it possible to enable volume control with rockbox on the line out?

Having a fixed volume level is one of the main properties of a proper line out.
