1st Gen iPod won't turn off
« on: September 19, 2009, 07:15:27 PM »
I just installed the latest stable build (3.3) on my 1st gen 10 gig ipod.  Now no matter what I do, I can't get it to turn off.  It says "Shutting down" the screen goes off for a second and then the apple logo comes up and it reboots Rockbox.  Has anyone else had this problem?

The 1st (and 2nd) generation Ipods don't turn off completely, they just "sleep" the CPU. Unfortunately Rockbox can not do that yet and so you need to reboot into the original firmware and turn the unit off from there (our manual should tell you how you reboot into Apple firmware on those).
