e280 skips during MP3 VBR playback

First: this issue also occurs with Sansa firmware.
I just installed RockBox (was hoping it would solve this problem). My Rockbox info page says v3.3. Is there somewhere I should look for more detailed version info?
Anyway... the problem is this: my mp3 files skip and hiccup during playback. I've tested and yes they do it at the exact same point every time. They are all encoded with (various versions of) LAME at V2 or V3. One of the files that I am having the problem with was encoded with version LAME3.93. I am currently listening to try to make a list of tracks that have this issue.

If it happens in both firmwares at the same point its almost certainly a corrupted file.

File plays fine in fb2k and I even ran foo_verifier on it. This is the only platform on which I have playback issues.

Did you run that on the copy on your Sansa or a copy on your hard disk?

Good point. I assumed they were the same b/c I Sync, but it only skips on Sansa. Does that mean my disk is corrupt?
