You're not understanding me.  Either:

1)  You are not following Apple's directions
2)  You have a broken player

Repeatedly saying you're doing everything right and its not broken doesn't make sense.  It has to be one or the other or else you'd have a working player . . .

Nonsense. He is trying to help you, but that will only work if you *read* what he wrote and read the pages he mentioned. Emergency disk mode is something provided by Apple, and does *always* work -- except if your Ipod has a hardware failure. Just looking for some colored dots on an image isn't enough, you need to read the accompanying text too. Getting into Emergency Disk Mode does *always* work, but it can sometimes be a bit tricky to get into it. However, it *does* work.

Also, you haven't paid for support (in fact, you can't get paid support here!), so it's rather rude telling someone trying to help you that he's not helping. If you want to accuse people go somewhere else.
