Help with subtitles for mpeg!

So I downloaded a movie (Harry Potter #1) and it came with a separate files for subtitles (a .ssa file).
How do I put the subtitles into the video so I can play it on my rockbox player?
It already has the same name
(Harry Potter.avi and Harry Potter.ssa)

you have to reencode the video with them in... rockbox doesnt support them yet.
