Hi -
New guy here, name is Dave. I really am looking forward to getting Rockbox up and running on my Sansa e260 (v1), but I'm having an issue and I'm hoping you folks can lend a hand.
Let me preface by stating that I work with a bunch of programmers at a small software company, but I am one of the sales guys, so I have limited programming knowledge (just ask our programmers

).
Anyway, I have manually installed Rockbox on my device and also installed the bootloader per the official instructions page. I get the ".rockbox" folder on my e260's root drive and the install seems to work well. I safely detach the USB cable, the e260 reboots and Rockbox appears.
The issue I am having then starts: when I plug the device back in via USB, the Rockbox software interface stays on the device screen for a few seconds, and then the device states "Refresh Database". When it's done refreshing, the original Sansa interface appears, and my PC no longer recognizes the device as a drive (really two drives, Drives F and G to include the Micro SD drive).
If I unplug the device from the USB at this point, the device stays with the original Sansa interface. If I turn the device off after detaching from the USB, then on again, the Rockbox interface appears.
If I then re-attach the e260 to my computer with the power off, the Rockbox interface again appears for a few seconds, then the "Sandisk" logo appears, and the device connects with the regular Sansa interface, and the PC recognizes it as the two drives again. Confusing enough?
I am running Windows Vista.
My main goal is to be able to use an HC Micro SD card rather than the 2GB limit that is imposed on this model e260.
What other input can I provide? Any suggestions? I will get one of our programmers over my shoulder tomorrow to assist, but I would appreciate any feedback in the interim. Thanks!
Dave
