Ipod Video will not start, can't hard reset
(1/1)
Khaw:
It freezes at the Rockbox loaded screen, I would hard reset but my hold no longer works. It will not mount so I can't uninstall and reinstall, letting the battery run out then charging it only results in another freeze.
GodEater:
Most of the time you don't *need* the hold switch to do the hard reset - so it's worth a try anyway.
Khaw:
Menu Select and Back, right? Menu and Select resets it, where it just goes back to the rockbox loaded screen, and menu select and back doesn't do anything. I can try removing the battery if that would work?
The ipod had an extremely old version of rockbox (3 years) and I updated it yesterday without updating the bootloader, I think that's what caused it but I can't be sure.
GodEater:
Menu+Select does the reset.
As *soon* as you see the screen go black, you then hold "Select+Play" to get it into disk mode.
"Menu+Select+Back" is no key combination that the ipod recognises, so no wonder if doesn't do anything.
Khaw:
Edit: That works, thanks :D
