Ipod problem

I have an Ipod 20gb the one that came out before the ipod video. I ran out of battery tonight and when I went to plug in the ipod it won't charge. I tried the wall charger and USB charger and nothing. The screen won't turn on or I won't see the battery level charging. The ipod is just off! Any help will be appreciated.
