Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but perhaps another topic area in the forum might be in order like "Rockbox Marketplace" where this kind of post, the thread on which Rockbox player to buy, and others that would address people willing to do modding on contract. I find in searching ebay that vendors are unwilling to even check firmware versions (as was the case with a recent inquiry about some Sansa e280's "Sorry they are already packed for shipping"). 

You see so many posts from people saying they won't buy a new/used DMP unless it's Rockboxable. For me no Rockbox is a deal-breaker. It would be nice to know the machine is Rockboxed or Rockboxable from a vendor who understands what this is and why you would want it. I'd be willing to donate a portion of each transaction to the cause, and I bet anyone selling would be willing to do so as well.

Woot was just selling the 4Gb Fuze for $32.95 plus $5 shipping and now that the Clip is obsolete, replaced by the Clip+ (microSD slot added) you might want to rethink your prices.

BTW, the 8Gb Clip+ is $70 list.

I didn't specify an exact price, I just noted what I saw some units go for on eBay. I was trying to find out if this would be a good place to market the ones I have or if I should go elsewhere. So far I've just annoyed people. I apologize.

If you want to sell a used player, state an exact price you're selling it for and be done with it. But don't try to turn this into an auction house, or a sales board.

if your looking for a classified/market area to do this kind of thing, you should check out anythingbutipod.com they have a classified section in their forums that includes quite a few rockboxed players

As policy has stood for quite some time, we'll happily allow people to post players for sale.  All that is asked is that they conduct business in public, offer a fixed price to all takers, and in general act in a way which benefits the community, not solely oneself.  Snide backhanded attitudes such as you have expressed, gdfj12, are not welcome either.


*I say "as policy has stood" because I don't believe we've ever posted said policy though we (staff) have oft discussed it amongst ourselves.
