Is there a way to configure rockbox to start up displaying just "Files", "Now Playing" and "Playlists" on the main menu?
Currently you have to scroll down on the Sansa C250 to see the "Playlists" option.
A second best scenario would be to move those three to the top of the list, with database, recording, FM, plugins and system listed after "Files", "Now Playing" and "Playlists".
I'm trying to dumb it down for a 90 year old so she doesn't get too lost selecting wrong options. It's great that rockbox allows the Sansa to power up and start playing music with just the push of one button. Anything more complicated would discourage her using it to begin with.
It will be hooked up to two small a/c powered speakers and to an a/c USB wall plug w/ USB extension cord. Rockbox is set to power down the sansa after a few hours.
I'd like to jitterbug it further (she has trouble installing batteries into hearing aids).
I think with some basic instructions written down, i.e. push small button to turn on, push and hold to turn off, use navigation bar to move down/up and select button she might actually manage to change a playlist. It's only four steps to the playlist from the current song playing screen.
I'd also like the "View Catalog" to be the only option under "Playlists", or at the top in "Playlists" so scrolling is not required, or better yet, show the actual playlists below "Playlists".
Maybe none of this is user configurable.
There would be two playlists.
The "main" playlist, listened to the most, is big band/swing songs all set to shuffle in one folder on the main internal 2GB.
The other playlist, "classical", points to songs on the 2GB <microSD1> , which will remain in the player.
The classical movements are segregated into folders, the contents to play in order, but I'd like the folders to play randomly.
Is that possible? If so, can it retain those settings when switched off/on and back/forth between the playlists?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks.
