MPEG viewer lockup on Sansa e200R

Unfortunately, I tried to play an old MPG video with VGA resolution on my Sansa e200R and the screen is backlit, with the scroll ring lit up blue and the whole thing locked up.  The buttons are not responsive.

Without knowing what to do next, my only plan is to let the battery run out, and after recharging the player, delete the video files. 

Is there anythng else I can do?  I also hope that my player is still viable too.  Thanks.

Edit:  I was able to hold the power button for a long time and shut the player off.  It now starts and everything works fine.  Sorry for the trouble.
